| Abstract | Nutrient analyses were conducted by a national Environmental Agency chemical analysis laboratory. Water samples were collected from various depths using a Niskin bottle sampler at specified locations. Total nitrogen in seawater was determined using a chemiluminescence method (SIST EN 12260:2003). Ammonia was measured by a spectrometric method (SIST ISO 7150/1:1996). Nitrate was measured by determination of dissolved anions using ion chromatography (ISO 10304-1:2007). Nitrite was determined spectrophotometrically (SIST EN 26777:1996). Total phosphorus (unfiltered water sample) was determined spectrophotometrically (SIST EN ISO 6878:2004). Orthophosphate (SIST EN ISO 6878:2004) and silica (SM 4500-Si D) were also determined spectrophotometrically. | |||||||||
