AbstractThis area was surveyed by INFOMAR on board survey vessel RV Lir during cruise LIR17_01 between August 7th and October 1st 2017. Survey work was conducted to standards and recommendations set out by INFOMAR, the International Hydrographic Organisation (IHO), the United Kingdom Hydrographic Office (UKHO) and the UK’s Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA). The scientific aim of the survey were to:(i) Undertake a Multibeam Echo Sounder (MBES) hydrographic survey to International Hydrographic Organisation IHO S-44 Order 1a Standard. The RV Lir was equipped with a RESON T20 sonar system. Depths were reduced to Lowest Astronomical Tide using the VORF model while sound velocity corrections from CTD casts were applied in CARIS. Positioning, heading and motion reference is provided by an Applanix POS-MV integrated IMU system (Inertial Motion reference Unit). Please reference the INFOMAR projects when the data is used in publications & presentations. Visit http://www.infomar.ie for more information.
