| Abstract | Hydrochemical and geochemical Study of Georgian Black Sea Basin Rivers, identification of pollutants and their propagation ways is carried out in frames of grant project of Georgian National Scientific Foundation, GNSF/ST07/5-206. The region under investigation covers a coastal zone between the estuaries of Chorokhi River and Khobi River. The following rivers are investigated: Rioni, Khobi, Maltakva, Supsa, Natanebi, Kintrishi, Choloki, Chakvistskali, Korolistskali, Bartskhana, Chorokhi, Adjaristskali and Paliastomi Lake. Water, particulate matter and sediments were sampled. One more objective of our research is ecological estimation of the region. General environmental pollutants are solid waste, toxic metals and petroleum hydrocarbons. The concentration of arsenic in sediment samples was measured by spectrophotometric method with ammonium molybdate. For pretreatment of samples the distillation of arsenic in form of AsH3 is used. | |||||||||
