| Abstract | The Ahtopol'84 expedition is the first one, during which the specialists of the IO-BAS used the method of shallow seismic (sparker) by their own, after training by Russian specialists from the Moscow State University. The investigations have experimental and methodical character and were performed onboard Bulgarian ship MV "Vasil Kolarov" from 15 to 25 March, 1984. The studied polygon is situated along the shelf break in the South Bulgarian Black Sea part. The 10 reconnaissance parallel lines of eco-sounding and shallow seismic are oriented in N – S direction and have a total length of about 400 km. The data were obtained by “sparker” as sound source operating with a group of 5 electrodes and energy of 8.0 kJ. As a receiver it was used 12 m length streamer with a group of 27 couples of hydrophones connected in parallel. The reflected signals were recorded on a wet-paper, discrete graphic recorder type “RDD” within a frequency range of 36 Hz to 256 Hz with a central frequency of about 75 Hz. The wing of the record is rate frequency on 32 ms and is 1.024 s. The quality of data is poor wit an average penetration of about 0.5-0.7 s bellow seabed Navigation was undertaken by BRAS radio-navigation system, with accuracy between 100 m and 150 m. The sparker sections are available on paper. |
