    AbstractSurvey work was carried out by the state research vessel R.V. Geo. The vessel is run by the Geological Survey of Ireland for use on the INFOMAR seabed mapping programme, a joint collaboration between the GSI and the Marine Institute. The R.V. Geo is an enclosed RIB (Rigid Inflatable Boat), ideally suited for very near shore survey work. This is due to her shallow draft and retractable equipment pod. Interferometric data on the survey was acquired using a SEA-Swath Interferometer system. Sounding depths on INFOMAR surveys are reduced to LAT using the UKHO’s Vertical Offshore Reference Frame (VORF) model which provides a modelled value for the separation between the WGS84 Ellipsoid and LAT around the coast of Ireland. The scientific aims of the survey were to (i) undertake a hydrographic survey to International Hydrographic Organisation (IHO) Order 1a standard. .
